Funerary Mask of Chiapas

Replica of a funerary mask of Chiapas, Mexico.  SMALL size of 11X12 cm or 4.5X 4 3/4 inches; MEDIUM size of 13.5X15cm or 5 1/2X6 inches and LARGE size of 17X13.5 cm or 6 3/4X 5 1/2 inches.

The original of these mask was found in Chiapas Mexico in a tumb of a noble Maya, is a burial mask and it was made in jade, obsidian and shell the archeologist think that it date’s from the late clasic period with the rectangular shape of the pieces.

They used to put the mask on the face of the King who was dead for the underworld and the eternal life.
